RHA's Executive Board is made up of three (3) elected executive positions, seven (7) appointed officers, and two (2) professional staff advisors. These individuals serve the residence hall population as the collective voice for those living on-campus to improve the residential experience. Also, these individuals work to provide a variety of exciting and engaging event opportunities throughout the year to build community and amplify the Nebraska experience.
Below you can find each elected executive and appointed officer for the current academic year as well as more information about the duties of each role.
Elected Executives
Elected Executive Position Responsibilities
President
- Time Commitment: Approximately 11 hours per week
- Helps provide direction & vision for RHA and Executive Board.
- Sets agenda, runs RHA Senate meetings and makes decisions on RHA Senate tie votes.
- Acts as an Association representative and liaison to campus groups, committees, organizations, and University Housing administration.
- Serve or appoint a representative for the Parking Advisory Committee, Police Advisory Committee, & Executive Vice Chancellor Board Meetings
- Appoints Committee Chairs & National Communication Coordinator.
- Chairs the RHA President's Committee.
- Submits legislation for approval to the RHA Senate on behalf of the Executive Board.
- Host weekly office hours and/or table for the Association
- Represents the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at regional (MACURH) & national (NACURH) conferences and President chats.
Vice President
- Time Commitment: Approximately 8-10 hours per week
- Sets agenda and runs Executive Board meetings for RHA.
- Be responsible managing attendance/quorum and senator placards for RHA Senate meetings.
- Assumes the duties of the President in their temporary absence.
- Manages training for RHA Senate members on roles and requirements.
- Tracks senator attendance, quorum, and manages Senator impeachment processes.
- Meets regularly with committee chairs to manage event request submissions, event calendar, and guidance/assistance with event planning & committees.
- Host weekly office hours and/or table for the Association
- Assist coordination of and attend fall and spring hall government officer training
- Attend & participate with NRHH Leadership Retreat & Summit
- Plans the end of the year recognition banquet for RHA & NRHH in conjunction with NRHH.
Chief of Operations
- Time Commitment: Approximately 8-10 hours per week
- Manages RHA budget and submits all necessary payment requests and forms on behalf of RHA as outlined by SOFS.
- Submits spending guidelines and budget allocations for Senate approval each semester.
- Reports to the RHA Senate & Executive Board on current allocations, expenditures, and changes to spending policies and procedures.
- Monitors compliance of RHA policies and requirements for funding allocations.
- Take and distribute minutes at meetings of the RHA Senate and Executive Board.
- Assists President with setting agenda and preparing paperwork for RHA Senate meetings.
- Maintain the RHA website, listservs, internal files, records, and archives for the RHA Senate & Executive Board.
- Maintain the RHA office including mail, office hours, messages, display board, etc.
- Be knowledgeable of and assist in upholding the bylaws, constitution, and organizational procedures of RHA.

Appointed Officer Position Responsibilities
National Communications Coordinator (NCC)
- Time Commitment: Approximately 7 hours per week
- Advertise & encourage involvement in regional (MACURH) and national (NACURH) opportunities, grants, and awards.
- Select & coordinate delegations to attend MACURH and NACURH conferences.
- Attend regional and national business meetings and chats as the official voting representative of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
- Report to RHA on regional and national business matters that impact the campus and its affiliation status with NACURH.
- Maintain resource files of program materials acquired at conferences, and serve as a general programming resource for RHA and local hall governments.
- Coordinate submission of all regional and national awards on behalf of RHA.

Inclusion Committee Chair
- Time Commitment: Approximately 4-5 hours per week
- Sets agendas and runs meetings for their committee.
- Reports to the RHA Senate and the Executive Board all actions of their committee.
- Coordinate events around cultural showcases, diversity education, inclusive-based advocacy, and community service.
- Be knowledgeable of resources and encourage partnerships with university departments like OASIS, the Women's Center, the LGBTQA+ Center, Husker Pantry, and international student groups.
- Coordinate RHA efforts to advocate for underserved student groups within the residence halls.
- Host weekly office hours and/or table for the Association

- Attend & participate with NRHH Leadership Retreat & Summit
Media Committee Chair
- Time Commitment: Approximately 4-5 hours per week
- Sets agendas and runs meetings for their committee.
- Reports to the RHA Senate and the Executive Board all actions of their committee.
- Assists in promoting events and increasing resident engagement through management of all social media accounts for RHA.
- Advertises and manages the RHA Movie Channel, new movie requests, and advertisement clips.
- Coordinates feedback from residents and RHA Senators on RHA and RHA's advocacy initiatives.
- Coordinate events around social media engagement, the RHA Movie Channel, sustainability, and hall improvement.

Traditions Committee Chair
- Time Commitment: Approximately 4-5 hours per week
- Sets agendas and runs meetings for their committee.
- Reports to the RHA Senate and the Executive Board all actions of their committee.
- Coordinate events around campus spirit, large-scale social gatherings, and building connections between residents.
- Be knowledgeable of resources and encourage partnerships with university departments and groups like ASUN, Homecoming, Residence Life, and special interest student groups.
- Coordinate RHA efforts in campus-wide events promoting campus pride and involvement.
- Host weekly office hours and/or table for the Association

- Attend & participate with NRHH Leadership Retreat & Summit
Wellness Committee Chair
- Time Commitment: Approximately 4-5 hours per week
- Sets agendas and runs meetings for their committee.
- Reports to the RHA Senate and the Executive Board all actions of their committee.
- Coordinate events around academic success, mental health, drug/alcohol abuse, personal wellness, campus pride, and civic engagement.
- Be knowledgeable of resources and encourage partnerships with university departments like Big Red Resilience & Well-Being, the Recreational Center, Counseling & Psychological Services, & Husker Hub.
- Coordinate RHA efforts to inform and increase campus wellness.
- Host weekly office hours and/or table for the Association
- Attend fall and spring hall government officer training
- Attend & participate with NRHH Leadership Retreat & Summit
Speaker of the Senate
- Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours per week
- Serve as a current RHA Senator representing one of the on-campus residence halls.
- Serve as the Senate’s representative to the Executive Board.
- Act as a resource to Senators and outside groups about how to draft and present legislation to RHA.
- Monitor bill submissions and work with officers to ensure review and communication to RHA Senate.
- Ensure that all bills have mandatory wording, a budget line, and an itemized budget.
- Chair the meetings of the Constitution Revision Committee when convened.
- Take on additional projects and duties as assigned by the RHA Executive Board or RHA Senate.

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) Liaison
- Assist the President & Vice President with recognition efforts of RHA Senators for their work on behalf of residents.
