Charlie Bortner
Hello, my name is Charlie Bortner, I am an Agricultural Engineering major from McCook Nebraska. Growing up on a family farm and ranch I am no stranger to teamwork and hard work. I am willing and eager to step into the role of treasurer for the Massengale Residential Center Senate. I believe my background not only equips me with a strong understanding of financial management but also instills in me a sense of pride in my work and meeting deadlines.
I've learned firsthand the importance of working collaboratively towards a common goal. Whether it's herding cattle or raising crops, effective communication and teamwork is a must. This mindset extends seamlessly into my approach to leadership roles, where I prioritize inclusivity, communication, and cooperation.
While working for an ag finance company, I was entrusted with bill management which required teamwork and meeting strict deadlines. I take great pride in my work because I know that each action directly impacts the operation's success. This commitment to excellence and accountability will be reflected in my term as treasurer, where I will oversee the residential center's finances and provide budgeting recommendations to the Senate.
In high school, I was highly involved in 4-H and FFA officer teams which taught me the importance of taking ownership of my duties and responsibilities. Whether it's organizing events, coordinating activities, or managing budgets, I approach each task with enthusiasm and dedication, hoping to make our community stronger.
As treasurer, I will uphold these same principles, ensuring that every dollar is allocated thoughtfully and responsibly to benefit the Massengale Residential Center community. I will work closely with my fellow senators, listening to their input, and collaborating to make informed decisions that prioritize the needs and aspirations of our residents. Together, we will ensure Massengale thrives as a vibrant and inclusive community where members feel valued and supported.
In conclusion, my background in agriculture, coupled with my experience in finance, leadership, and commitment to teamwork and responsibility, uniquely qualifies me to serve as treasurer for the Massengale Residential Center Senate. I am ready to take on this role with enthusiasm and dedication, working to uphold my peers' trust and contribute to our dormitory community's continued success.
