The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a national leadership-based honorary that is a branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). As an organization, NRHH "advocates for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development." NRHH holds two core values of recognition and service meaning members strive to provide recognition to individuals who have contributed to the advancement and betterment of college and university housing and seek opportunities to serve the local community through service projects, fundraisers, and other forms of support.

The NRHH symbols are the diamond shape and the three interconnected links. The diamond symbolizes the resilience and the value of the beauty of the residence hall experience. The links represent the chain of leadership, specifically, the skills of caring, dedication, and participation.

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), there is the Scarlet & Cream Chapter of NRHH. UNL's Chapter is comprised of current and previous residential students who fully embrace the values of recognition and service to UNL and the greater Lincoln community. The Scarlet & Cream Chapter is best known for the following:

  • Leadership Retreat, Leadership Summit, and other leadership development opportunities for UNL's student leaders
  • "Shave for the Brave" fundraiser for the St. Baldrick's Foundation fight on childhood cancer
  • Volunteer opportunities throughout Lincoln
  • "Of the Month" (OTM) awards, Hall Government End of the Year awards, and other recognition events and efforts
