Abel Sandoz Complex Council

Positions & Responsibilities President (Serves as RHA Senator)
  • Commit an average of 6.5 hours or more per week to Association business
  • Set agendas and presides over general assembly and executive meetings;
  • Meet with all executives regularly;
  • Serve as a representative of the organization to outside entities and acts as the primary advocate for the local council;
  • Attend all Residence Hall Association (RHA) meetings as a representative of the hall and voting member of RHA;
  • Serve on the RHA President’s Committee;
  • Attend RHA All Hall government Officer meeting 2-3 times a semester
  • Host weekly office hours and/or table for the association
  • Work in conjunction with RHA & NRHH to update and send out content for hall government newsletters;
  • Attend all executive training, scheduled 1:1s, and NRHH leadership events, attend fall and spring hall government officer training; 
  • Work with executives to keep an updated permanent record of the Constitution and bylaws, standing rules ,and pertinent information to the organization; 
  • In good faith, and to the best of their ability, observe and enact all provisions of the constitution, bylaws, and duly passed legislation.

Benefits for President

  • $1,400 leadership credit per semester for term of office
Vice President
  • Commit an average of 3 hours or more per week to Association business
  • Verify quorum and attendance for both Executive Board and General meetings;
  • In the event of a temporary absence of the President, assume the duties of the President, for the duration of the President’s absence;
  • Shall keep a record of member attendance and manage a system of accountability for member requirements;
  • Meet with all committee chairs/coordinators regularly;
  • Host weekly office hours and/or table for the Assocition
  • Attend RHA All Hall Government Officer Meeting 2-3 times per semester
  • Keep accurate calendar of events;
  • Coordinate all event request submissions through NVolveU and ensure advertising for organization events with coordinators;
  • Attend all executive training, scheduled 1:1s, and NRHH leadership events, fall and spring hall government officer training 

Benefits for Vice President

  • $800 leadership credit per semester for term of office
Treasurer
  • Manage finances and keep financial records of the organization;
  • Submit a balanced budget for general membership approval one week after receiving the semester’s allocation;
  • Report to the organization regularly and upon request concerning the financial records of the organization;
  • Inform the general assembly of any important changes to SOFS procedures;
  • Submit payment requests and requests to purchase on credit card;
  • Audit the budget with advisor once a month and the RHA advisor once a semester;

Harper, Schramm, Smith, & Village Council

  • Developing campaigns for recruitment of new members and to fill open positions.

Director of Advocacy

  • Attend council meetings;
  • Assist with RHA tabling in HSSV and other methods to gain feedback from residents about hall improvements;
  • Engage with Husker Voting Coalition to assist in getting residents signed up and participating in elections.

Hall Governors (2 per bldg)

  • Attend council meetings & represent designated building/community areas on council;
  • Assist in planning and hosting council events.

Kauffman Residents' Association

Freshmen Representative

  • Acts as a freshmep representative to the executive board;
  • Takes on various projects for the board based on interest;
  • Assists in planning Kauffman events & getting feedback from residents.

Wing Governors (3 per wing)

  • Attend council meetings & represent designated building/community areas on council;
  • Assist in planning and hosting council events.

Love Memorial Hall Cooperative

Cultural Committee & Advocacy Coordinator

  • Coordinates and ensures cultural based events throughout the year in various SCCC halls in collaboration with the board and members;
  • Works with other coordinators to plan tabling and resident engagement for feedback on hall improvements, policy changes, etc;
  • Assists with management of social media presence.

Social Committee & Involvement Coordinator

  • Coordinates and ensures social based events throughout the year in various SCCC halls in collaboration with the board and members;
  • Works with other coordinators to plan tabling and resident engagement for recruitment;
  • Assists with management of social media presence.
