Residence Hall Association
One
of the goals of the Residence Hall Association is to bring students
together in order to form a campus community. One way that RHA does
this is by providing a series of social and philanthropy events for
UNL residence hall students to participate in free or at a reduced cost.
Some of our annual events are listed on this page, however, if you have
any ideas for possible events feel free to Let
Us Know!
Turkey
Bowl-A-Thon
Held in November
The
Turkey Bowl-A-Thon is an annual event conducted by the Student Action
Team (SAT) held in November. The purpose of the event is to raise funds
for various agencies and help educated UNL students to the needs of
these agencies. Last year the proceeds went to benefit the Matt Talbot
Kitchen and Outreach which serves lunch and dinner every day to the
less fortunate, as well as providing outreach services that include
assisting people in need of shelter and clothing. Participants are guaranteed
to have a great time at this event!

Angel
Tree Program
Held in December
The Angel Tree Program is conducted annually by the Student Action Team
(SAT) in partnership with the Salvation Army. The program invites UNL
students and organizations to chose a tag from trees placed outside
designated Dinning Halls around campus during peak evening hours. The
tags contain the information of a child (age and sex) who is in need
of a brighter holiday season. Student and groups are encouraged to take
a tag from one of these trees and shop for a gift of the described child
and then returned to designated campus locations to be distributed to
children around the Nebraska Area.
Husker
Idol
Held in April
RHA's
Student Action Team (SAT) presents the Fifth Annual Husker Idol.
Students can compete for Husker Idol, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's
version of hit TV Show American Idol! Think you have singing
skills? Or lack of? Come show them off to the campus at Husker Idol.
Last year all proceeds went to benefit the Culture Center Coalition
(CCC), a group of students and organizations to raise awareness
of the need for a new Culture Center at UNL.
Campus

Held throughout the year
The Social Committee of the Residence
Hall Association sponsors many different events throughout the year
including bringing local and national mucial acts to UNL. These events
are free to all students who want to come and have a great time. RHA partnered with the University Program Council
